The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is something of a risk at the moment, so you could envision that there might be little affinity for visiting Zimbabwe’s gambling dens. In fact, it appears to be operating the opposite way, with the critical market conditions leading to a larger desire to play, to attempt to locate a fast win, a way from the crisis.
For the majority of the citizens subsisting on the meager nearby money, there are two common types of wagering, the state lottery and Zimbet. Just as with practically everywhere else on the globe, there is a state lottery where the probabilities of hitting are surprisingly tiny, but then the prizes are also very big. It’s been said by market analysts who understand the concept that most do not buy a card with the rational belief of profiting. Zimbet is founded on either the national or the United Kingston soccer divisions and involves predicting the outcomes of future games.
Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other shoe, mollycoddle the astonishingly rich of the country and vacationers. Up till recently, there was a considerably substantial tourist industry, centered on safaris and visits to Victoria Falls. The market woes and connected conflict have cut into this market.
Amongst Zimbabwe’s casinos, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and slots, and the Plumtree Casino, which has just the slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slot machines. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which have table games, one armed bandits and video machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the two of which has video poker machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.
In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens and the aforestated mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a parimutuel betting system), there are a total of 2 horse racing tracks in the nation: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.
Given that the market has diminished by more than 40% in recent years and with the connected poverty and violence that has come about, it is not well-known how healthy the vacationing business which is the foundation for Zimbabwe’s gambling dens will do in the near future. How many of the casinos will be alive till things improve is merely not known.
